Meet Michael

Looking Ahead: The Next Chapter for Valentines

Hi, I’m Michael and I’m proud to be carrying the torch for Valentines, the family business my dad started over a decade ago. What began as a mobile coffee van has grown into something truly special, and now, with the reins officially in my hands, we’re setting our sights on the future.

Our vision is simple: to bring Valentines to workplaces across the North East, offering more than just great food and drink. We want to create little sanctuaries, spaces where people can step away from the hustle of the workday, take a breath, and enjoy a moment of calm.

We’ve already seen just how powerful that can be. Our Seaham site has been a real success, not only in terms of business, but in the way it’s been embraced by the community. It’s reminded us exactly why we do what we do. With new workspace locations on the horizon in 2025 and even more planned for 2026, we’re more excited than ever for what’s to come.

Real Values, Not Buzzwords

We’re still a small family-run business at heart. While others might throw around phrases like "company culture" and "brand values" for us, it’s much more personal. Our approach has always been shaped by who we are and what we care about.

We believe in great food, great coffee, and great service. But not the surface-level kind. We mean the kind of quality that comes from genuine passion and pride. The kind that makes someone say, “This is my favourite place in the building.” That’s our goal every day.

We don’t just serve meals, we create moments. A good cup of coffee or a well-made sandwich might seem small, but in the middle of a busy workday, they can be the pause that makes all the difference.

A Flexible, People-First Concept

One of the things that makes Valentines so special is how adaptable it is. We aren’t a one-size-fits-all business. Whether it’s an office, factory, co-working space, or somewhere in between, if there’s a need for food and drink, we’ll find the right solution.

We can bring a full café experience, a grab-and-go counter, or a coffee shop vibe—whatever suits the space and the people in it. If you have something different in mind? Let’s talk. We love working with our clients to create something that really works for them.

What’s Next?

We’re just getting started. With big plans on the horizon and a deep belief in what we do, the future of Valentines is looking bright. We’ll keep building, growing, and most importantly, serving people the way we always have: with care, quality, and a personal touch.

Here’s to the next chapter.
